When will my 19month old stop putting things in his mouth?
My 19 month old son still puts things in his mouth and it is getting stressful and dangerous.
He got a metal bath plug stuck in his mouth and also the lid of a container, he thinks it is funny.H e has also eaten all the nibs from a box of markers and a packet of crayons.
When will he grow out of this? I am so tired of watching him like a hawk and he can’t play with toys his friends play with if they have pieces that he can fit in his mouth- this includes quite large objects he literally forces into his mouth.
My son is the same age and does the same thing. He eats the ends off of pens and pencils, it’s so frustrating. My husband has asthma and my son gets a hold of them and puts the caps in his mouth and laughs when we take it away. He swallows the craziest things but yet he can chew gum just fine then spit it out when he doesn’t want it anymore. Weird right?! Hopefully he grows out of it soon because I am getting frustrated just as you are. Sorry I didn’t help but sheeze I wish he didn’t do it. LOL boys I tell ya!
